Gillian’s high school graduation trip of 2021 is finally here! Covid closures necessitated the delay of this celebratory event. Normally, we would do a full 14-16 day family vacation in the summer post-graduation. However, these Flatt offspring continue to grow up and do what adults do. My mom heart is both proud and still misses those days of everyone being able to travel for an extended time. May/ June is no longer easy for travel with jobs, internships, and classes, so we’re taking advantage of the overlapping Winter break dates to go to Italy. We left Nashville in the afternoon for a direct flight to London, Heathrow, where we transferred to our flight to Rome. Really appreciate the direct flight out of Nashville. Super convenient. Note for transferring flights in London. You will go through security again even staying in the same terminal. Allow time for deplaning on the tarmac, busing to the terminal, and queueing through security. All liquids and creams in clear quart bags. Not to jinx any return travel, but this process was very smooth.
